Reflections on 2024 and Looking to 2025
Catching up on December’s to-dos and the January rush, I’ve found myself behind on Rubisnacks updates and writing here. But I’m back, and there’s been a lot happening behind the scenes that I’m excited to share with you soon!
Before diving into all of that, I want to pause and reflect on the start of 2025. New beginnings often mean endings, and this transition has prompted me to look back at what I’ve learned and what I want to carry forward.
Reflecting on 2024
2024 was a journey—it brought incredible experiences along with equal parts growth and challenge. Growth can be uncomfortable, but it’s also necessary. Three themes stood out for me last year:
-
Coming into my potential
Growth often means outgrowing old versions of yourself. It can be scary, even if positive, because it means a new circumstance. Last year was about stepping into my potential and fully embracing who I am and what my goals are. -
Redefining my timeline
I’ve let go of the pressure to follow traditional timelines or compare myself to others. Whether in business or life, my path is my own, and I’ve learned to trust that. -
Capturing joy amidst imperfection
I’ve made space for joy—unattached to productivity—and it’s transformed how I approach work and life. Joy fuels creativity, deepens relationships, and reminds me that rest and play matter just as much as progress.
Looking into 2025
As we approach Chinese New Year, we’re stepping into the Year of the Snake. In Chinese culture, the snake symbolizes transformation, renewal, and wisdom. Snakes shed their skin to grow—a powerful metaphor for leaving behind what no longer serves us and embracing growth. This idea deeply resonates with me as I reflect on the past year and the lessons it brought.
Here’s what I’m taking with me—and what I’m leaving behind:
Closing Thoughts:
Transformation takes courage and intention. Shedding what’s no longer needed makes space for something new. Here’s to a year of stepping into potential, embracing joy, and leaving behind what holds us back.
